Warner Bros. acquires untitled science fiction spec script written by Josh L. Gordon. From THR:

The script’s story takes place in a near future where mankind is threatened by an exponential advances in artificial intelligence. In this scenario, a brilliant young engineer finds herself at the center of an eccentric billionaire’s bid to alter the trajectory of the human race. Children of Men and Interstellar are the touchstones here.

This is the first sale for Gordon who has been working as a management-production company assistant.

The deal is described as a competitive bidding scenario.

Gordon is repped by ICM Partners and Pulse Films.

By my count, this is the 45th spec script deal in 2017.
