Spec Script Deal: “Wendy and the Lost”

Paulist Productions acquires romantic comedy spec script “Wendy and the Lost” written by Carol Barbee. From Deadline:

Wendy tries to help her son, Will, fit into the world. As he tries to find his place among his socialization group filled with oddball peers, Wendy realizes she needs to begin her own journey of making friends — and maybe even finding love.

This is an option deal.

Barbee is repped by WME and Hands In The Middle Management & Productions.

By my count, there have been 30 spec script deals in 2017.

There were 26 spec script deals year-to-date in 2016.

This represents a 13% increase in deals this year compared to last.
