Spec Script Deal: “Women In Business”

20th Century Fox acquires comedy spec script “Women In Business” written by Laura Steinel. From THR:

After a heated bidding war involving multiple studios, Fox has nabbed the hot comedy script Women in Business.

Laura Steinel wrote the screenplay for the female-driven comedy, which has some strong attachments: Emma Stone, Kate McKinnon and Jillian Bell.

…the film, centers on two competitive women who are sent on a business trip to Canada. There, they hire a third woman off Craigslist to act as their intern, which derails their trip.

That’s a big package and a female-centric one to boot.

Steinel is repped by UTA and Principato-Young Entertainment.

By my count, this is the 20th spec script deal of 2016.

There were 25 spec script deals year-to-date in 2015.
