Spec Script Deal: “3–1–2”

Universal Pictures acquires drama spec script “3–1–2” written by Ike Smith. From Deadline:

Hopeful millennials seek their true potential while surviving the extreme violence of inner-city Chicago, the 3–1–2.

Smith is a recent Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting semifinalist. He is repped by Original Artists.

By my count, this is the 75th spec script deal in 2016.

There were 55 spec script deals year-to-date in 2015.

Spec script deals are up 27% this year over last.
