Spec Script Sale: “Bodies at Rest”

Nasser Entertainment and Caliber Media Co. acquire thriller spec script “Bodies at Rest” from writer David Lesser. Per Variety:

Story centers on three thugs who break into a morgue to cover up a crime and the medical examiner and assistant who must figure out a way to stay alive as well as protect the evidence.

That sounds like an intriguing idea for a low-budget contained thriller genre pic.

Lesser is repped by Preferred Artists and New Wave Entertainment.

By my count, there have been 107 spec script sales in 2011.

Only 55 spec scripts sold in 2010.

Only 68 spec scripts sold in 2009.

Spec script sales are up 102% year-to-date over 2010.
