Spec script sale:

Chockstone Entertainment lands comedy spec “Tapped Out” by first-timers James Sommers and Grace Church:

Laffer revolves around an unemployed, down-on-his luck man whose life is turned upside down when he accidentally punches and knocks out an Ultimate Fighting champion and is challenged to one round in the league’s octagon-shaped ring.

Unusual sale in that the script first hit the marketplace back in February. Generally if a script doesn’t sell in the first few weeks after it goes wide, it’s not going to sell.

Chockstone is producing The Road, based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy, which is set to be released in October by Dimension.

Sommers and Church are repped by Bryan Miller (Kaplan/Perrone) & Chris Sablan (Original Artists).
