Spec Script Sale: “Cardiac”

20th Century Fox and Davis Entertainment acquire action thriller spec script “Cardiac” from writer Lars Jacobson. From Deadline:

A taut action thriller in the vein of Taken and Safe House, involving a father who has six hours to find the criminals that have stolen a heart intended for his daughter’s transplant surgery.

Another action thriller. Ticking clock. Clear stakes. Clear goal. Good Guy, Bad Guys. And a strong high concept, easy to market.

Jacobson is repped by CAA and Brian Lutz Management.

By my count, this is the 40th spec script sale of 2012.

There were 31 spec sales at this time last year.

Spec sales are up 29% year-to-date compared to 2011.
