Spec Script Sale: “Expiration”

Emmett/Furla Films acquires action spec script “Expiration” from writer Brian Tucker. Per Deadline:

An ex-CIA operative-turned-hitman is poisoned on his final job. With 20 hours to live, he is determined to find out who poisoned him, and settle the score before he dies.

Hitman. Ticking clock. Revenge. Those are strong action elements.

Deal is mid-six-figures against seven-figures. Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe starring for director Allen Hughes.

By my count, “Expiration” is the 69th spec script to sell in 2011.

Only 55 spec scripts sold in 2010.

Spec script sales are up 73% year-to-date compared with last year.
