Spec Script Sale: “Garden District”

Dimension Films acquire horror thriller spec script “Garden District” written by Tony Jaswinski & Luke Goltz. From Deadline:

“Garden District” is a low-budget horror thriller about a trio of self-declared mythbusters who get in over their heads while investigating what they think is just another hoax.

Here’s another story concept hiding in plain view. Good for the writers having the eyes to see it. And resulting in a deal worth mid-six against seven figures.

By my count, this is the 31st spec script sale in 2012.

Last year at this time, there were 24 spec sales.

Spec sales are up 29% year-to-date compared to 2011.
