Spec Script Sale: “Grace of Monaco”

Producer Pierre-Ange Le Pogam has acquired drama bio spec script “Grace of Monaco” from writer Aresh Amiel. From THR:

In 1962, French leader Charles De Gaulle and Monaco’s Prince Rainier III are at odds over Monaco’s standing as a tax haven. France gives Monaco six months to reform its tax laws, and the situation escalates. Grace Kelly, age 33, has given up her acting career to become a full time princess and uses her political maneuvering behind the scenes to save Monaco.

It is a $15M independently funded project.

Amiel is repped by CAA.

Sale Date: October 25, 2011.

By my count this is the 87th spec script sale in 2011.

In 2010, only 55 spec scripts sold.

In 2009, only 68 spec scripts sold.

Two more spec script sales to report today.
