Spec Script Sale: “Haunted”

Warner Bros. buys horror spec “Haunted” from writer Eric Kripke. Per Variety:

A tale of a haunted house told from the ghost’s point of view.

Similar but different: A haunted house movie, only switch the POV to the ghost. Takeaway: You can find a ‘new’ story simply by changing the point of narrative attack.

Kripke is repped by WME and Principato-Young Entertainment.

By my count, that is the 48th spec script sale of 2011.

The 48th spec script didn’t sell in 2010 until November 5th.

Spec script sales are up 60% this year over last year.
