Spec Script Sale: “Hellfest”

CBS Films acquires horror spec script “Hellfest” from first time scribes William Penick and Chris Sey. From THR:

“A Halloween night of fun turns deadly at America’s premier theme park when an actual costumed killer begins slaying unsuspecting patrons who believe it’s all part of the show.”

Concept generated by Valhalla Entertainment’s Ben Roberts, who will serve as executive producer.

Penick and Sey are repped by APA.

By my count, this is the 49th spec script to sell this year.

The 49th spec script didn’t sell in 2010 until November 8th.

Spec script sales are up 58% this year.
