Spec Script Sale: “In The Flesh”

Summit Entertainment acquires teen ghost spec script “In the Flesh” from writer Kristin Hahn who adapted YA novel “A Certain Slant of Light.” Per Variety:

The novel, by Laura Whitcomb, centers on a young woman, dead years 130 on, whose guilt prevents her from going to heaven. She falls in love with another wayward spirit, who shows her how to inhabit a mortal body whose spirit has died.

Sale date: October 5, 2011.

By my count, this is the 85th spec script sale in 2011.

In 2010, only 55 spec scripts sold.

In 2009, only 68 spec scripts sold.

Four more spec script sales to report today.
