Spec Script Sale: “Kidnap”

IM Global acquires thriller spec script “Kidnap” from writer Knate Gwaltney. From TheWire:

The movie centers on a woman whose son is kidnapped at a local mall and her subsequent race to find his abductors.

Another thriller in a year when the genre has blown away everything else.

Gwaltney is repped by Original Artists.

By my count, there have been 105 spec script sales in 2011.

Only 55 spec scripts sold in 2010.

Only 68 spec scripts sold in 2009.

Spec script sales are up 98% year-to-date over last year.
