Spec Script Sale: “Lore”

Warner Bros. acquires sci-fi action spec script “Lore” from writers Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott. From THR:

Dwayne Johnson is attached to star in the sci-fi actioner, which has been described as “Men in Black with mythological creatures.”

The script is another in a rare, but increasing phenomenon of writing a spec based on existing material in this case an IDW book/graphic novel written by Ashley Wood and T.P. Louise.

It’s a seven-figure progress-to-production deal.

Goodman is repped by WME and Aperture Entertainment, while Lott is repped by Paradigm and Aperture.

By my count, this is the 34th spec script sale of 2012.

There were 31 spec sales by this date last year.

Spec script sales are up 10% year-to-date compared to 2011.
