Spec Script Sale: “Love and Weapons”

Myriad Pictures acquires adventure romance spec script “Love and Weapons” from writer Stephen Belber. From Deadline:

In the spirit of Three Kings, “Love and Weapons” is a wild ride of a love story set against the backdrop of travelling UN weapons inspectors.

Belber is repped by ICM.

By my count, this is the 71st spec script sale in 2012.

There were 62 spec script sales by this time last year.

The 71st spec script didn’t sell last year until September 30th.

Spec script sales are up 13% year-to-date compared to 2011.
