Spec Script Sale: “Match”

Millennium Films acquires romantic comedy spec script “Match” from writers Ben Shiffrin and Dan Antoniazzi. From Variety:

Story centers on an executive at a dating web site who declares war on a rival service that embellishes profiles to help its clients hook up.

Shiffrin and Antoniazzi also wrote “Heartstopper” which made the 2008 Black List.

They are repped by UTA, The Gotham Group and MFW.

By my count, this is the 62nd spec script sale of 2012.

There were 45 spec sales by this date last year.

The 62nd spec script did not sell last year until August 23.

Spec script sales are up 27% year-to-date compared to last year.
