Spec Script Sale: “Subdivision”

Universal acquires science fiction comedy spec script “Subdivision” from writers Morgan Jurgenson and Alex Ankeles. From Variety:

While the logline is being kept under wraps, “Subdivision” marks the second major spec sale this year for Jurgenson and Ankeles, who sold their sci-fi script “Hyperdrive” to Paramount earlier this year.

Deal described as a “competitive situation”.

By my count, this is the 83rd spec script sale in 2012.

Last year at this time, there were 90 spec script sales.

Spec script sales are down 8% year-to-date compared to 2011.
