Spec Script Sale: “The End”
Warner Bros. acquires sci-fi drama spec script from writer Aron Eli Coleite. From Deadline:
The film focuses on three completely different storylines that are interconnected by the fact that the players in each one are trying to reconcile the fact that the world is going to end. There is a veteran broadcast in London, a 16-year old girl and her boyfriend in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and a devoted family man in Shanghai. They each try to make peace with their lives before an interstellar event ends the world in just six hours.
Coleite is repped by CAA.
Doesn’t it seem like a lot of dark stories involving death and destruction have been selling lately? I’ll have to check that out.
By my count, this is the 84th spec script to sell in 2011.
In 2010, only 55 spec scripts sold.
In 2009, only 68 spec scripts sold.
Sales of spec scripts are up 84% year-to-date over 2010.
