Spec Script Sale: “The Man in the Rearview Mirror”

Latitude Prods. and Lascaux Films acquire action-thriller spec script “The Man in the Rearview Mirror” from writers Andy Pagana and Justin Thomas. From Variety:

Set in the 1950s, “Rear Window”-esque story follows a man, his wife and her mother who pursue a suspected kidnapper at high speeds on the freeway.

A reported low- to mid-six-figure deal.

Pagana and Thomas are repped by Verve and Industry Entertainment.

By my count, this is the 51st spec script sale of 2012.

There were 41 spec sales by this date last year.

The 51st spec script didn’t sell last year until June 28.

Spec script sales are up 24% year-to-date compared to 2011.
