Spec Script Sale: “The Quiet Ones”
New Regency acquires horror spec script “The Quiet ones” from writer Vik Weet. From FilmFunds:
The script is in the vein of Paranormal Activity and is pitched as follows: “Three students walked into a house. Ninety minutes later, all three of them were dead. This is what happened.”
That’s a tight description. Not quite your ‘standard’ loglines, but a great set-up with a Beginning, Middle and End.
Weet is repped by UTA and New Wave.
By my count, this is the 59th spec script sale in 2012.
There were 44 spec sales at this point last year.
The 59th spec script sale didn’t occur last year until August 1.
Spec script sales are up 25% year-to-date compared to 2011.
