Spec Script Sale: Untitled Campbell & Stuecken Project

Paramount acquires untitled thriller spec script from writers Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken. From Variety:

Script is described as a contained thriller with sci-fi elements.

First contained thriller to sell in a while. Note: J.J. Abrams prod co Bad Robot to produce.

The pair is repped by UTA. Campbell is managed by Madhouse Entertainment, Stuecken by Energy Entertainment.

By my count, this is the 52nd spec script sale of 2012.

There were 41 spec sales at this time last year.

The 52nd spec script didn’t sell last year until June 30.

Spec script sales are up 27% year-to-date compared to 2011.
