4. Expecting cheap or free everything
5. Demanding entertainment
6. Worrying about the planet
7. Seeing luxuries as standard
8. Pro-business, anti-multinational stance
9. Wanting to regulate the heck out of media bias
10. Naturally Me but aspiring to We
Considering this list and the fact young people are attending movie theaters less and less — as I noted here — what does these supposed trends mean to a screenwriter and the stories we choose to tell? Do we ignore it? Try to write for this demo group? Does this info provide a jumping off point to brainstorm potential story ideas? Or do we stick with the default mode: “Just write what you like and the rest will take care of itself?”
At the very least, this information could influence how you develop characters in your stories who are part of this age group.
