The last word on “How can I become a script reader?”

I get asked this question frequently. Thanks to this post from The Bitter Script Reader, who knows way more about the subject than me, I don’t have to worry about providing an answer anymore. I’ll just forward the above link.

One thing to add as far as spec scripts is concerned: As production companies, buyers and reps expand the use of assistants and even interns to provide script coverage instead of professional readers, I think story concept is critical now more ever. The quality of script coverage may vary. The quality of a story concept shines through no matter what.
