Musunahi — familiar to Web denizens enamored with the spooky, suspicious and bizarre — is the Web site otherwise known as the Museum of SuperNatural History, and DreamWorks Studios sees feature potential there.

This is about the 5th or 6th blog I’ve seen end up with a movie deal. And how do you ‘adapt’ “The Museum of SuperNatural History” into a film?

DreamWorks is talking to writers about how best to turn the lunatic-fringe material into a screenplay, which would center on the curator of a covert organization known as the Museum of SuperNatural History who must seek out and protect the world’s best-kept secrets.

UPDATE: How about some help, GITS readers. I’d like to compile a list of blogs that had success as books or Hwood bought their rights for TV or film. For example, there is: “Waiter Rant”. From Wikipedia:

On September 22, 2008 it was announced that Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollins, ordered another book from Dublanica, titled “At Your Service.”[10]

On September 29, 2008, Dublanica announced that his book had been optioned for TV.[11]

Then there’s “Stuff White People Like”:

A book (Stuff White People Like: A Definitive Guide to the Unique Taste of Millions) was released on July 1, 2008.[8] Lander is listed as the sole author of the book,[9] although some of its content comes from the blog posts written by Valentin.[4][10] The book remained on The New York Times bestseller list for months.[11] Lander was reportedly given a $300,000 advance by Random House, the book’s publisher.[12]
