Or what does it say about what major studios won’t buy.

Of course back in the old days, all the way back to the middle of last decade, most major studios had active specialty divisions so perhaps independent in terms of tone and subject matter, but a majority of the above listed scripted movies are based on high concepts, which pretty much rules Hollywood thinking.
