Two possible Daily Dialogue themes of the week!

Okay, let’s run with these two possibilities:

The Unknown Lyricist said…

Best spectator comment… e.g. “I’ll have what she’s having” from “When Harry Met Sally.”

To which Peter Dwight added:

Love Unknown’s idea..

“We got a bleeder!”… “Keep it in the circus!”…

And the second theme:

Mike said…

Best understatement played to comical effect.

“Up”:
(After Carl saves the others at the Zeppelin’s edge)
DUG: Oh, I am ready to not be up high!

“Raiders of the Lost Ark”
SALLAH: Asps. Very dangerous. You go first.

“The 13th Warrior”:
(Before the three-shields duel)
IBN FADLAN: What happened?
HERGER: An engineering dispute.

“Forrest Gump”:
FORREST: Then Lieutenant Dan told me he bought some kind of fruit company and we didn’t have to worry about money any more.

“Serenity”:
JAYNE: I’ll kill a man in a fair fight. Or if I think he’s going to start a fair fight. Or if there’s money. Or a woman. Or I don’t like his tone of voice.

So let’s run with both of those: What are your favorite spectator comments and comic understatements? This should be good for a couple of weeks.

Remember: It works best if you can copy/paste into your comment the actual quotes which you can almost always find at IMDB (every movie has a Quotes page).

And it’s really helpful if you can source an accompanying video clip on YouTube or at least the movie’s trailer.

Let’s see what we can dredge up from our movie memory cells!
