Upcoming on GITS
We’re at the mid-year mark (can you believe it!) and I wanted to give you a heads-up of a few things that will be happening on the blog as we head into July:
* Mid-year spec script market analysis: I am assessing sales numbers and trends thus far this year and will be posting on that hopefully next week. Here’s one interesting piece of information: Sales of spec scripts in 2011 are up 64% over last year.
* More screenwriter Q&A’s: I’m lining up more interviews with screenwriters including some who have sold spec scripts this year, so I’m excited about that. Note: If you are a working screenwriter and would be open to share insights into how you approach your craft, please email me. Nothing in it for you but some seriously good karma.
* I have a couple of new weekly series percolating as folks seem to like those daily noon (ET) / 9AM (PT) posts.
* Starting Tuesday, I will be back with another round of GITS Reader Questions. As I’ve already taken on over 200 questions here, I keep thinking we’ll tap out possible subjects, but I’ve got over a dozen new questions from GITS readers all set to go. If you have more you’d like to ask, anything about screenwriting, feel free to do so in comments or via email.
* Finally do you have any questions or suggestions for this blog? Much of the way GITS has evolved over the last three plus years is because of reader input. I am always happy and interested to hear what you have to say. So if you want to see me cover a specific topic, or have an idea for a weekly series, or can envision some area of discussion that could help you in your growth as a writer, do not hesitate to post in comments or email me.
