Update: Kyle Killen

For those of you who remember me analyzing and generally fawning over the script “The Beaver” by Kyle Killen here, here, and here, tracking the progress of the script’s movie production (starring Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster) , and noting Killen selling a pilot script to Fox:

“Midland,” from 20th TV, is a soap set against the backdrop of an oil business that centers on a polygamist living a double life.

Well, Fox picked up the series. Per Variety:

As for “Lone Star,” sudsy drama centers on a family in the oil business. Kyle Killen wrote the pilot and EPs with Chris Keyser and Amy Lippman (who serve as showrunners), Kerry Kohansky, Chris Weitz and Paul Weitz. Marc Webb directed the pilot.”Lone Star” cast includes Mark Deklin, Jon Voight, David Keith and Adrianne Palicki.

“Lone Star” is the new series name for what used to “Midland.”
