Update: Story Ideas
Longtime GITS readers will recall every April, I run a series called A Story Idea Each Day for a Month. Every day, I post a different story idea I have collected over the year from various news sources. The rationale for this series:
* To get you used to looking at the world with a different set of eyes, always looking for story ideas.
* To encourage you to be thinking up story ideas on a regular basis [the more ideas you develop, the better your chances for hitting on a great one].
* To engender your brainstorming capabilities, looking at story ideas and saying, “What if?”
And of course, there’s always a chance you will hit on a million dollar story idea. Like this one:
Barefoot Bandit Colton Harris-Moore has signed a movie deal with 20th Century Fox worth up to $1.3 million, his lawyers tells his local Everett, Wash. Daily Herald newspaper.

The Barefoot Bandit was finally caught in February 2007 and sentenced to three years in juvenile detention after a wild crime spree that ended when he crashed an airplane he taught himself to fly in Washington.
Stories are everywhere. You just have to be attuned to them.
