Video Interview: Dean DeBlois & Chris Sanders (How to Train Your Dragon)
If you didn’t see How to Train Your Dragon, you missed out on a terrific movie. How terrific? How about a 98% rating on RottenTomatoes. It was released in March and went on to gross $491M worldwide. It’s a cleverly crafted story with nicely defined and fun characters, all wrapped around a strong story concept:
A hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself, and learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed.
The movie is based on a novel by Cressida Cowell with a screenplay by William Davies, Dean DeBlois, and Chris Sanders, the latter two who co-directed the movie for DreamWorks Animation. Their writing credits include Mulan (1998) and Lilo & Stitch (2002).
