Video Interview: Jay Duplass (“Cyrus”)

I’ve tracked the work of the Duplass brothers, Jay and Mark, for some time now including here and here. Their newest movie Cyrus, which features John C. Reilly, Jonah Hill, and Marisa Tomei, has gotten terrific reviews. The movies tagline: “John met the woman of his dreams. Then he met her son…”

In this video interview excerpt, Jay talks about how their use of improvisation on the set differs from someone like Judd Apatow, and their place in the so-called “mumblecore” oeuvre of modern filmmaking.
