Video Interview: Mike Leigh
I’m willing to bet there are quite a few GITS readers who are Mike Leigh fans. As a writer-director, Leigh credits include High Hopes (1988), Life Is Sweet (1991), Naked (1993), Secrets & Lies (1996), Career Girls (1997), Topsy-Turvy (1999), All or Nothing (2002/I), Vera Drake (2004), and Happy-Go-Lucky (2008).
In this interview available at the wonderful site FORA.tv, Leigh goes into some detail about the unique way that he creates his stories, relying heavily on improvisation during lengthy rehearsal time spent with the actors.
