Would you like a 5-part series on how to read and analyze a script?

I’ve had a few conversations on GITS and via email recently with readers wondering how to get the most value out of reading scripts. That got me thinking about it and sent me scurrying back to some files I have of the dozens and dozens of scripts I read and analyzed back when I first broke into the business. In reviewing those docs, I realized I had developed a specific approach to that process. And so I thought I would ask you this:

Would you like me to share with you that approach on how to read and analyze a script?

You can enter into the process at a surface level, which is fine for what it is, always better to read a script than not. But you can also use a variety of ‘tools’ to break down a script on multiple levels, thus really digging into the characters, structure, etc. In my view, that can only deepen your understanding of the craft and help your own writing.
