Year 1: Black List & Go Into The Story — Screenwriting Roundtable

As part of our week long celebration of the 1-year partnership between the Black List and Go Into The Story, I thought it would be interesting to review some of the more notable initiatives, series and posts that emerged during the last 12 months.

How about this: A screenwriting roundtable with writers who have sold 12 spec scripts in 2 years? Here they are with their scripts:

Chris Borrelli: “The Vatican Tapes” [Black List 2009], “Wake”, “Sad Jack”.

F. Scott Frazier: “The Numbers Station”, “Line of Sight” [Black List 2011], “Autobahn”, and a fourth project as yet unannounced.

Jeremiah Friedman & Nick Palmer: “Family Getaway” [Black List 2010].

I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to know these writers. They are talented, passionate, love movies and are not so far removed from aspiring screenwriter that they aren’t willing to share their insights with the online community.

There is something going on out there. An initial spate of screenwriting gurus in the 80s, screenwriting stars of the 90s, and cutting edge of 2000s. This new group of screenwriters breaking into Hollywood, I truly believe they get it. They understand the business, the process, the craft, and they work their asses off.
