Your favorite GITS posts?

Every so often I receive an email from someone who tells me they have just discovered the site and spent a few days clicking through GITS archives. Invariably they will mention a particular post or series that especially spoke to them. And sometimes I will look at the reference, blink, and go, “I don’t even remember writing that!”

Thus I can’t tell you how many times I have been tempted to do an exhaustive click-through of every page of posts in Dashboard [currently 512 pages with 20 posts per page] to remind me of what I’ve written and more importantly resurrect some hidden gems.

But of course that would take a helluva lot of time which I don’t have.

So when I received the latest email this week from someone who had been digging through GITS archives, I had a sudden inspiration: Why don’t I ask the GITS community to suggest posts or series? Especially for the benefit of the many newcomers we have to the site these last few weeks.

Do you have any favorite GITS posts?

Are there some that you remember that I haven’t re-posted in a while or possibly ever?

Is there a series you think would be valuable to bring back?

Part of the issue for me is I have a writer’s mentality in this respect: I write something, it’s done, and I’m onto the next thing. I have entire scripts I’ve written which I barely remember. Imagine that! Having worked for 3–4 months on something, all those hours and focus, and it barely registers now in my mind. So of course there are going to plenty of GITS posts I have forgotten, and some of them may be worth revisiting.

So help me out, would you? If you can remember some posts or series, please let me know. Or if you have a few minutes, perhaps click around in the various links posted under Lists [right-hand column] and see if you find something interesting. If you’re really adventurous, you can do a Google search of the site by entering key phrases [e.g., “character archetypes,” “screenplay analysis”].

Currently there are 9,114 published posts on this site. I have another 1,120 in draft form which have never been published [I definitely need to review those to see which ones I should complete and post]. That’s a lot of content.

Which posts or series are worth revisiting?

See you in comments. I greatly appreciate your help!
