If you’ve seen the movie Baby Driver, you may well notice some similarities with the Minto Royale music video. Here’s why: The video was directed by Edgar Wright. The concept of (A) a heist and (B) a musical derived from this experience. It took him over a decade to get the movie made, but he did, and it’s terrific. Inspiration hit Wright, it sustained his belief in the project for years, and finally saw him through its production.

UPDATE: This is what I’m talking about!

This group is awesome. Read through some of your posts, then sat down for my own writing and hit 3.5 pages in only one hour! This is my first screenplay ever and I’m glad for the support and articles you all share! #ONWARD

First screenplay ever. 3.5 pages. Brings a tear to my eye. My brain goes caroming back in time to when I wrote my first screenplay: “Stand Up”. It was winter 1986. And with every page I wrote, I felt a growing connection to the craft. By the time I got to FADE OUT — even though it turned out to be a shitty script — I was convinced this is the narrative form for me.

How about you? Do you remember the very first screenplay you wrote? We need to stay in touch with those feelings, those memories, that excitement. It can help carry us through challenging creative times.
