The latest in our ongoing series on classic movies focused on international movies and as always, it was fascinating to see where GITS readers went with their favorites. Several of the movies in the list below such as Amarcord, Jules and Jim, and Seven Samurai were examples of films which sprang into my mind, but several writers veered more toward more recent movies. Of course, they can be classics, too, and I’m glad to see the wide variety of titles here. Indeed all of the ones I have not seen — and there are many — I’ve added to my Watch List. We’ve covered classic movies from the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70, 80s, and 90s. Now international movies. Some have suggested we should do classic movies by genre: Action, Comedy, Drama, Horror, Science Fiction, Thriller. Would anyone be up for that? Let me know.
