The Daily Dialogue theme for the week is awkward, suggested by Sabina Giado. Today’s suggestion by Sabina Giado.

Trivia: According to Alan Tudyk the inspiration for his ‘stoned’ performance came from a memory from his teenage years when he once saw an intoxicated teen perched naked on top of a picnic table. He mimicked the same weird pose during his nude scene on the roof.

Dialogue On Dialogue: Commentary from Sabina: “Daniel’s awkward boring speech at his own father’s funeral when everyone really wanted the high-flying author brother to give it was bad enough.

On top of that, Simon, the usually mild-mannered solicitor has a seriously bad trip. In front of his stuffy soon-to-be-father-in-law.

And then worst of all, he tips over the body.

All of these things have a call-back at the end of the movie.
Daniel finally nails the speech.
Finally the coffin DOES move and somebody is alive in there.
And the wife, on hearing the dark secret, has a real hissy fit.
There’s a bit with the priest too, but well, I’ll leave some tid-bits for you to discover.”
