Trivia: Valentine Davies got the idea for the script while struggling through the Christmas shopping crowds, trying to find a present for his wife. The commercialism he saw made him wonder what the real Santa Claus would make of it all.
Dialogue On Dialogue: One definition of ‘faith’ is belief put into action. In the final scenes of the classic holiday movie Miracle on 34th Street, Susan, played by a young Natalie Wood, does precisely that when she implores her father to stop the car, then races into the house for sale. In fact, a central theme of the movie is about the power of belief.
