The Daily Dialogue theme for the week is New Year’s Eve.

Trivia: The “C.C.” in C.C. Baxter is short for Calvin Clifford.

Dialogue On Dialogue: This line sets the floor for the scene, the beginning point for Fran Kubelik, stuck — yet again — with Sheldrake, like nothing has changed, nothing will change. Then Sheldrake proceeds to tell Fran about Baxter’s behavior, how he quit instead of allowing Sheldrake to resume his affair with Fran in Baxter’s apartment. Sheldrake doesn’t realize it, but each line of his story creates another piece in a bridge for Fran to go from being stuck to leaving Sheldrake to go to Baxter. It’s a pitch perfect scene resonant with the potential of what the new year offers.
