Daily Dialogue — December 5, 2013
“I have trouble sleepin’ at night. I have bad dreams like I’m fallin’. Wake up, scared. Sometimes it takes me a while to remember where I am… I don’t like it here. I’m tired of bein’ afraid all the time. I’ve decided not to stay.”
— The Shawshank Redemption (1994), screenplay by Frank Darabont, short story by Stephen King
The Daily Dialogue theme for the week is Fear.
Trivia: Frank Darabont took a pay cut in order to be allowed to shoot his own script.
Dialogue On Dialogue: One of the all-time great subplots with Brooks functioning as a dark Mentor, carving one potential path for Red. The other one forged by a promise Red made to Andy. In the end, hope wins out over fear.
