The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Oblivious.

Trivia: So we all know the irony of this inscription in the Bible Warden Norton gave to Andy:

Dear Warden,
You were right,
Salvation lay within.
Andy Dufresne

Then Norton opens the Bible revealing how Andy had cut out the pages so he could hide his rock hammer within. But in prepping this post, I noticed something I’ve never spotted before. Check out the name of Old Testament book:

Yes, that’s right: Exodus. It literally means “departure”. As Andy has departed the premises.

I have seen this movie about 20 times. It keeps revealing little grace notes. Amazing film.

Dialogue On Dialogue: Warden Norton, who thought he was so totally in control of things, revealed to be completely oblivious to Andy’s escape plans.
