Daily Dialogue — March 9, 2013

“I am done. I don’t deserve this. I really do not deserve this. I deserve someone who gives a shit. I’m not spending one more second of this life with some inconsiderate prick. You’re a prick.”

The Break-Up (2006), screenplay by Jeremy Garelick & Jay Lavender, story by Vince Vaughn & Jeremy Garelick & Jay Lavender

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week is breakup, courtesy of a suggestion by Liri Nàvon.

Trivia: The original ending featuring Gary and Brooke running into each other at an art fair each dating someone that looked identical to the other (Brooke’s date looked like Gary, and Gary’s like Brooke) was scrapped when it tested poorly. A new ending was filmed with the same result but featured Gary and Brooke running into each other on the street alone. In both versions the two remained broken up.

Dialogue On Dialogue: Sometimes you don’t need subtext. Sometimes you need a sledgehammer. This dialogue? Sledgehammer.
