Interview: Terrance Mulloy

As part of my series on writers and filmmakers who are on the front edge of making their mark in the business, recently I interviewed Australia-based screenwriter Terrance Mulloy who sold his original spec script “Priority Run” to Arclight Films.

Here are all three parts of that Q&A:

Part 1: “I have friends outside of the industry who think screenwriting is this glamorous lifestyle, and every time I hear that I burst out laughing. I tell them it’s just like any other job. You get up each morning and you go to work.”

Part 2: “During the course of writing the first draft I originally had the Protagonist as a male prison guard, but I eventually came across another prison documentary on TV which highlighted women working in the U.S. corrections industry. After watching that I immediately knew it would be a lot more interesting to have a female guard as the main Protagonist.”

Part 3: “I’ve never had an exec or anyone show concern about me not living in Los Angeles. Most people I’ve dealt with are only concerned about the material, not where I live.”
