Interview [Video]: John August

Another in an excellent Creative Spark series of videos from Academy Originals, this one with John August whose screenwriting credits include Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Frankenweenie. It offers a terrific insight into how John approaches crafting of a story with a lot of solid takeaways.

I especially like how John talks about his use of a white board to explore possible connections between characters, essentially asking what the narrative functions of each of their relationships is. And check out that crazy keyboard setup!
