Popcorn Fiction: “The Interview” by Drew McWeeny
The latest short short from screenwriter Derek Haas’ great site PopcornFiction:
A lot of readers asked me after the partnership with Mulholland if I would only be printing hard-boiled crime stories on Popcorn Fiction going forward. The answer is “hell no.” I love all kinds of popcorn genres: horror, sci-fi, crime, comedy, Westerns — just to name a few. Mixing up the offerings is one of the things that makes it fun for me.
Today’s story is the first of its kind here and I’m quite excited to publish it. “The Interview” is set in a sort-of realistic comic book world. A mysterious superhero grants an interview to a reporter and shows him exactly who and what he’s fighting. Drew McWeeny is the author. If you don’t know Drew, he’s the talented screenwriter behind several episodes of MASTERS OF HORROR and FEAR ITSELF, and he doubles as one of the best film critics, interviewers and essayists writing about film on-line today. You can find him at hitfix.com with a regular column.
