Reader Question: How do I stay on top of spec script sales?

I trolled through your question archive and didn’t see this one anywhere. I’d like to stay on top of which scripts are being optioned and purchased by the studios. Where would I find that information? Is there a single resource, a series of resources, or something else you can recommend?

First things first: Earlier this year with the help of two intrepid Black List interns and DoneDealPro.com, we accumulated The Definitive Spec Script Sales List, covering all spec script sales we could find from 1991–2012. You can see that list here.

Second I track spec script sales as they happen and when I can confirm them, so yet another reason to visit GITS regularly.

Third if you want to check out each spec script sale in, say, 2012, use the Google search engine here on the site, and type in “spec script sale”.

Also every January, I post a complete list of spec script sales for the year.
