Paramount with a preemptive purchase of science fiction spec script “Hyperdrive” from writers Morgan Jurgenson and Alex Ankeles. From Variety:

Story centers on a tough cop who recruits a geeky science-fiction writer to find a witness to a murder and is described as “Men in Black” meets “Midnight Run.”

Mismatched buddies. Chase. Wish fulfillment. High concept. Any other marketable aspects of the story jump out at you based on the logline?

Jurgenson is repped by APA and Hung Entertainment. Ankeles is repped by CAA and Kaplan/Perrone.
