Spec Script Sale: “Scarecrow”

Screen Gems acquires horror thriller spec script “Scarecrow” written by Mike Scannell. From Variety:

Scannell’s spec script, set at a remote lake house, revolves around a mother and her two young daughters who must fight for survival after falling into a terrifying and bizarre nightmare conceived by a psychopath.

Scannell is repped by UTA.

By my count, this is the 44th spec script sale in 2014.

There were 75 spec script sales year-to-date in 2013.
